You may find the following suggestions helpful whilst looking for
your dress:
If you are going to wear a bra on your wedding day, when trying on
dresses take with you a well fitting bra that gives you good support.
This will really help to give you a nice shape and a true impression of
what your outfit will look like (even if this is not the bra that you
will wear on your big day).
When starting to look for your dress, keep an open mind with regards
to the design until you have tried on the main different shapes
available. You will be amazed at how different the designs look on a
person as oppose to on a hanger and most brides are pleasantly surprised
at how certain styles look on them that they wouldn't have considered.
Even if you have your heart set on a specific style of dress, do at
least try on several other shapes of dresses or bodices and skirts to
ensure you are 100% happy with your final choice!
If your hair is long enough to tie back, when you go to try on
outfits, take with you a hair band so that you can see the different
looks that you can achieve. This may help you decide on whether to have
your hair down or up for your wedding day.
When looking for your wedding outfit, take someone with you who you
are comfortable with, whose opinion you value and who knows you well.
When choosing your outfit, don't forget to consider the location and
likely temperature for your wedding day. You do not want to have a bulky
dress that is hard to pack and that has lots of layers under the skirt
if you are getting married in a hot location abroad, but nor do you want
to be cold when outside in a cold English winter wedding!
